What types of equipment does Merrit Capital finance?

Merrit Capital arranges financing and leasing for new and used revenue-generating commercial equipment. Specialties include landscaping, snow removal, towing, dump trucks, site preparation, road building, drilling, mining, forestry, dental and medical equipment. Other commercial assets can also be considered.

Can used equipment be financed?

Yes. Used commercial equipment may be considered based on age, hours or kilometres, condition, value, seller and the strength of the full request.

Can I buy equipment from a private seller?

Eligible private-sale transactions may be financed after ownership, liens, condition, value, seller identity and the funding process are verified.

Does Merrit Capital finance equipment across Canada?

Yes. Merrit Capital serves Canadian companies across all provinces and territories, including Northern and Southern Ontario, Atlantic Canada, Winnipeg and Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Applications and documentation can be handled remotely. Merrit does not finance businesses in the United States.

What information should I send first?

Start with the equipment quote or listing, purchase price, seller, delivery deadline, legal business name, time in business and a short explanation of how the asset will be used.

Is equipment-financing approval guaranteed?

No. Every transaction is subject to lender credit approval, asset acceptance and standard documentation.

Does Merrit offer equipment leases or business loans?

Equipment leasing is Merrit Capital’s core business. Depending on the transaction, we also arrange conditional sales contracts, equipment sale-leasebacks, working capital financing and accounts receivable factoring. The appropriate structure depends on the business need, asset or invoices, and lender review.
